8 Dos And Donts Of Selling Aso-ebi by festuskol (Not by Onis)

Having your friends in the same fabric sewn into various styles and spiced up with different types of accessories definitely adds color to many African events. Picking and selling the aso-ebi however takes a lot of planning. Here are some dos and don’ts to make it easier for you.
1. Don’t rip people off – If you bought the cloth for 10k, don’t sell for 20k. That is a rip off. Sometimes you may need to add alittle token to cover the cost of delivering the aso-ebi to your friends, but don’t rip people off bymaking it a lot more expensive than it is. The truth is people will always find out, and how will that make you look?
2. Give them enough notice – Don’t just send text to people about aso-ebi when it is three weeks to your event. Let them know well ahead so they can fit it into their budget and also make necessary arrangement for sewing it.
3. Don’t take it personal if someone can’t buy – People have different reasons for saying no, it may be that they are broke at the time or because it doesn’t fit into their budget or even because they already have something similar to it. They have a right to say so. Respect it.
4.Buy what they will love to wear – Make an effort to buy a beautiful material that will be worth their money and can still be useful even after the event.
Choose nice colours and fabric not only based on your preference, if possible let a few of your friends go with you and sample their opinions before you choose.
5. Consider your friend’s spending power - If most of your friends earn less than 100k, it really doesn’t make sense to be selling aso-ebi that costs 50k, not many people will be willing to spend half of their salary on your aso-ebi.
6. One good turn deserves another –If you persuaded people to buy your aso-ebi it is only normal for them to expect you to buy theirs’ when they are having an event too. Be prepared, and if for any reason you can’t, send them an apology.
7. Don’t act desperate – Yes, the more people wearing the aso-ebi the more colourful it looks but desperation is when you go round looking for phone numbers of friends you have not called for the past twenty years just to sell aso-ebi to them. That is a no-no.
8. Say thank you – Yes it is your event and your friends should support you by wearing the aso-ebi, but the truth is that they are doing you a favour. Don’t take them for granted. If you can afford it buy a small gift to say thank you, if you can’t send a text, email or even make a phone call to say thank you.

Charly boy (Charles Oputa) aka Area father is set for the "African Kardashians family show" which will feature four generations of the Oputas.
Maverick entertainer, Charles Oputa says the new reality show was created to shock timid, myopic, backward and mongoparkish Nigerians out of their old ways of thinking (clears throat)

P Square’s Second Baby's Mother Hold In London Hospital Over Unpaid Hospital Bill Nigeria’s hip hop sensation, P Square (real name Paul Okoye), has reportedly abandoned the mother of his second baby in a London hospital where the woman recently gave birth to the entertainer’s baby. A few weeks after welcoming his first new born baby in Atlanta, P Square – who is also known as P2 – had another baby delivered for him in a London hospital by a former beauty pageant contestant. However, this time, P Square has refused to claim paternal responsibility for the baby boy. SaharaReporters learnt that the new baby’s mother is Elshama Benson Igbanoi, a 19-year-old and former Miss Plateau State. Our sources disclosed that she gave birth at the Queen Charlotte and Chelsea Hospital on Du Cane Road, London W12 0HS. Our sources said the new mother had been in touch with P2, but he had not been forthcoming beyond telling her that he plans to arrive in London for a DNA test to ascertain paternity. SaharaReporters spoke to the woman’s father, Benson Igbanoi, in Abuja. Mr. Igbanoi stated that his daughter was faithful to the musician. He also revealed that he had sent several emails to P Square concerning his daughter’s pregnancy for him, but had received no response. Another source said Elshama's family had contacted Paul Okoye's father and aunt to persuade the musician to accept responsibility for his baby. Ms. Elshama insists that she never slept with any man except for P2, adding that she lost her virginity to him when she was 17 years old. SaharaReporters learnt that the London hospital where she gave birth has not received any payments. “The hospital has been harassing both Elshama and her mother to pay hospital bills of over £5,000 that have been incurred,” said one source. The baby boy has been named Michelle Paul Okoye. In a twist to the story, a source close to the former beauty queen said Ms. Elshama was a close friend to Anita, the other woman who gave birth to another baby for P2 a few weeks ago in Atlanta, Georgia.
